Meeting with the students of Himara Greek School "Omiros"

AARHUS Information Center with the support and in collaboration with REC Albania, SENiOR-A Programme, in the framework of the project “Raising the public awareness of youths and citizens about waste separation and recycling” organized the following activity in 21.01.2015 at 09.30 am at Himara Greek School "Omiros".

This meeting aimed the awarness of students and youth for the waste separation and recycling. Also this awarness session aimed to raise collaboration between local authority so the waste separation becomes a daily practice for the citizens.

Recycling is the process to change waste materials into new products which helps our planet in different forms like: raw material saving, keeping clean the environment. The waste collection makes possible a clean environment for all of us, while recycling protects the natural resorces

The meeting started with the presentation of the project, the collaborators and the donors. At the begining it was presented the importance of the recycling and waste sepparation by Mr. Robert Murataj Manager of Aarhus Center. Then it was discussed about the help that Himara Municipality will give in the environmental protection presented by Irakli Gjicari. In this meeting was present the representative of EMMAUS Vlore, Edison Stefa who gave a huge importance to the recycling by considering it it like a protection of natural resorses like: forests, waters and metals.

The discussion continued with the students of the school. They had good knowledges over this issue. One of the students said that: “Recycling is very important because through it we can make world a better place to live, by taking care of the our environment because it is not only our individual space”.
