ENVSEC Regional meeting for Eastern Europe
28-30 June 2016 Tirana, Albania

In the framework of increasing the cooperation between the countries of the Balkan Region and in order to strengthen capacity for environmental issues, representatives of our organization (Aarhus Information Centre of Vlora, Albania), participated in the 3-day meeting of the ENVSEC in Tirana.

This meeting was made possible by REC (Regional Environmental Center in Albania) and OSCE.

The meeting was moderated by Ms. Marta Szigeti Bonifert, Executive Director of REC.

At the meeting were also present:

- Mrs. Olijana Ifti, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Environment of Albania

- Mr. Johann Sattler, Ambassador of Austria in Albania

- Mr. Jan Rudolph, Charge d'Affaires a.i. The European Union Delegation in Albania,

- Mr. Robert Wilton, vice Amasador of the OSCE Presence in Albania,

- Ms. Yesim Oruc, Director of UNDP Albania

- Ms. Maria Teresa Pisani, Economic Affairs Officer of the UNECE Environment Division,

- And Mr. Pier Carlo Sandei, Program Officer of the UNEP - Vienna Office.

The meeting was enriched by presentations and plenary discussions structured around four focus areas of ENVSEC:

1. Management of shared water resources
2. industrial waste and dangerous legacies
3. Climate change and natural disasters
4. Good governance Environment
