The activities realized during the first phase of the project: “ Differential separation and recycling- creating a good model”, a project realized thanks to the support and financing of REC- Albania, SENiOR-A program.

1. Awareness session with students of the high school in Himara.

In this activity were present representatives of Himara Municipality, students and teachers of the high school. In the awareness session the participants discussed about the importance of differential waste, recycling and the role that should play dhe students in this issue. During the activity the participants were informed for the benefits that the diferential waste and recycling have for the environment and the community.

2. Awareness meeting with the students of the primary school in Dhërmi

In this activity were present students and teachers of the primary school in Dhërmi. The main purpose of this meeting was the awareness of the students for the differential waste, recycling and the role of the students in this case. The students expressed readiness to give information even to the families and the people who live near them in order to make possible that the community does something to reduce the wastes in Dhërmi.

3. Round table with local decision-making actors and civil society

In this activity were present representatives of Himara Muncipality, students and teachers of the high school in Himara, environmentalists, represantives of local business and civil society who were known with the purpose of the activity and the project.

During this meeting, it was discussed over the problems of urban wastes, where it was   highlighted that for Himara Municipality it was important the sensibility and the awareness of private business in order to make possible the separation of the wastes in hotels and restaurants during the summer season. The idea of recycling was very interesting and in favor of the environment for all the participants in this activity.

At the end it was discussed for designing a common plan by the school, Himara Municipality and AIC Vlora for the progress of the project and the following activities.
