What is happening in the Narta Lagoon?

"It my be dissapeared the amount of grass found in the Lagoon, or it can be reduced, as a result of the autumn and winter rains that will affect its drying" - said a fisherman fishing on a slope at the Zvernes lagoon bridge linking the shore with the Monastery.
Numerous studies and projects have attracted the attention of researchers, environmentalists, or public entities in relation to the Narta Lagoon. A lagoon that is very attractive and stunning, with great value for both humans and rare birdwatching birds of this lagoon and other living creatures that have returned to mass especially after the extension of the hunting moratorium.
However, recent images, just two days ago, show that the situation is not at all promising in terms of adapting fish or other lagoon habits. The level of rapidly developed grass spread throughout the Lagoon is very disturbing. During field observations, a multitude of fish swimmers on the surface, rarely sometimes, perhaps because only oxygen could be found there, probably the rate of eutrophication is at accelerated levels. Perhaps the lagoon's condition is at the fourth stage of eutrophication: "In the fourth stage, the disappearance of oxygen in the last layers leads to the emergence of fermentation which has the characteristic of releasing suffixed gas and ammonia"
Let's not forget that eutrophication can cause catastrophe in closed seas but giants with a surface of several thousand km2, such as the Baltic Sea case.
Eutrophication is largely assisted by human activity, either by the use of phosphates, ie the chemical fertilizers and nitrates that enter the lagoon through the spillage of surface water and groundwater, as well as by the discharge into the Wastewater Lagoon, resulting in filling, the lagoon lymn and the multiplication of living organisms that accelerate eutrophication.
As a result of the death and disintegration of a significant amount of algae at the end of the Lagoon from the above mentioned reasons, the oxygen of the last layers of the lagoon is consumed or not produced and consequently has an oxygen concentration only on the surface of the Lagoon. That is why there were so many fish on the surface.
It is a situation that requires the commitment and commitment of many actors and institutions not to leave the situation to perpetuate at a stage where recuperation would be very difficult, if not impossible.
Harmonization of concrete emergency measures with the design of a long-term plan to stop spill in the lagoon of sewage and other waters, streams that are contaminated with chemicals from different factories, nitrates from the use of fertilizers in agriculture, will significantly affect in improving the situation.
