Training with public officials and chairman of the villages of Novosela Administrative Unit – Vlore Municipality was organized with the cooperation of Directory of Regional of Environment of Vlore Region and Vlore Municipality. The aim of this training was to refresh / recognition in practice legislation for the Evaluation of Environmental Impact or as otherwise called EIA, the kinds of businesses that qualify for environmental permits and the types of businesses and investments that have a legal obligation to organize public consultation before issuing an environmental permit from the relevant authorities.

The main subject was held by the Director of the Regional Directory for Environment in Vlora, Mr. Kreshnik Lilaj, who explained in detail the procedures to be followed for obtaining permits and the best way of organizing a public consultation. He also stressed out the importance of involving local community during the investments that do have impact in environment

The representative of the Vlora Information Aarhus Centre, Mr. Robert Murataj, explained the ways of informing the public, the maturity of the responses for each request that comes at administrative unit and importance of public involvement during drafting of plans, programs and annual budget to become not only more transparent and accountable local governance, but also to enhance mutual trust between citizens / residents and public administration.
