In the framework of the project "Strengthening public participation through environmental awareness in the Municipality of Vlora",  with the support of REC Albania, Regional Environmental Center, under the program ACHIEVE, Vlora Aarhus Information Centre, has organized several meetings with representatives of local government of Vlora Municipality and Administrative units of Novosela, Shushica and Orikumi, as well as representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Vlora Region.
The aim of the meetings,was the presentation  of the main objectives of the project to the local stakeholders and officials, as well as preparing the ground for conducting trainings of staff of the Administrative Unit of the Municipality of Vlora. There will be organized trhe specific training with public official of Administrative Units of Vlore Municipality about the/ recognition in practice of legislation EIA / SEA .This sesions of information and consultation will be followed by field visits where environmental conflicts generated  in the past protected areas, natural disasters, climate change and their impacts in order to sensitize the issues as a result of the inappropriate decisions taking by stakeholdres by not involving citizens voice in the local planing and programes.
The participants in these meetings, were representatives of the Administrative Units, village chairmans, local residents and local business representatives. At these meetings / public forums, was also discussed about the organization of public consultation, that will be organized in three Administrative Units of Vlore Municipality during the period November 2016- March 2017.

These public consultations will be organized by Vlora Aarhus Information Centre, using the appropriate standards, good notice, information, hearings, consultation, reporting referred to local legal requirements and international conventions.
The consultations will be mainly focused on the local environmental issues, forwarding their recommendations in synthetic form through central level.

Also these consultation will serve to demonstrate the " right models" of how to realize a Public Hearing, information and consultation successful by designing the special guide and transfer them at the regional agencies of the Environment, Administrative Units and the Municipality of Vlora for new -Application. Guidelines will be established and the official website of the Municipality of Vlora and the Aarhus Information Center.
